A Personal Note From Your Coach..
Hi there! I just returned from my annual spa trip feeling very refreshed and ready for a new decade. Can you believe it's 2010? Around this time, each year, I like creating a personal theme for myself. My theme helps shape the entire year and is a guiding light for me, too. This year's theme is "GLOW". I always have fun wordsmithing my themes each year and decided to go with something totally simple and concise, yet powerful. What does it mean? Well, GLOW encompasses a lot of smaller sub-themes such as eating REALLY well, exercising even more, adding more fun into my life and letting go of any thoughts/behaviors/people/habits that drag me down. I had many "glow" moments in 2009 but I'd like to step it up this year. My theme reminds me that when I'm at my total best...I GLOW and feel incredible. In 2010, I plan to increase my glow factor! What's your theme?
January 11th is BIG DAY
The most popular program I offer is back for another year. We'll start next MONDAY, so grab a seat if you're interested. The more the merrier.
I created the Inner Circle Program to give people the structure, inspiration and support they need to accomplish their goals. The kicker is the price, which is VERY affordable at $49/month for the silver level. Over 100 participated each week in 2009 and I felt a great sense of pride reading over the year-end reviews and hearing about all of their wins.
I believe this program is so effective since it helps people build momentum week by week in a structured and inspiring environment. Plus, there's a very magical synergy that's happening with the entire group and our weekly discussions online. Most of us KNOW what we need to do to improve our lives, yet we don't do it. The # 1 reason is lack of support, motivation and a structured plan. I've solved that dilemma for you. If you love group fitness classes at the gym, you'll love the Inner Circle to shape up your life. It's very fun!

Client Story - How Betty Became Unburdened
"Betty" (not her real name) was one of my favorite phone coaching clients from 2009. I'll never forget her strong and endearing Southern accent. At times, I thought I was talking to Food Network Star, Paula Deen! Betty was totally EXHAUSTED and fed-up with how her life was going. A successful business owner and mother to 20-something daughters and care-giver to her elderly mother and grandchildren (at times), she found herself knee deep in everyone else's life and realized she lost herself somewhere along the way. So, she signed up for coaching to reclaim her life. Whenever I take on a new client, I always spend the first few sessions listening for clues about how they need to evolve in order to grow through their current challenges. In Betty's case, I only needed ONE session to nail the root cause of her stressful life. Betty needed to become unburdened. Simple as that. I asked Betty to start setting some SERIOUS boundaries with people and helped her see how she was actually holding her daughters back by doing too much for them.
She also had to let go of lots of obligations and enabling behaviors. For example, when Betty embarked on her weight-loss mission (one of the goals we set at the beginning of the year), she found herself struggling with the 'environment' of her home. There was junk food in the cabinets and her mother loved cooking fatty southern specialties. "Betty, who actually owns the home you live in?", I asked her. "Well, I do, of course. My kids and mom live there for free" she replied. Sometimes we need to face the simple truth to clearly see the light. It finally dawned on Betty that she lost control of her home environment a long time ago and she needed to reclaim it as the first step toward reclaiming her peace in life.
Long story short, Betty took the reigns back and totally revamped the tone of her home. She removed all of the junky food and let everyone know how they could support her with the weight loss plan. In time, the whole family was inspired by Betty and her steady weight loss each week. She felt supported by her family rather than burdended. A total shift for Betty. What's fascinating, and not at all unusual, is how her work environment closely matched her previously draining home life.
"Betty, who owns the company and pays the employees?" I asked. With a laugh, she said " I do!" Whipping her staff into shape and not tolerating their low productivity was our next task, which Betty was thrilled to address.
In the end, Betty said she felt LIGHTER all the way around, not just the waist-line. She finally learned to say "NO" and ask for the support she needed to reach her goals. I suppose we could also call this story 'Balancing Betty!" You see, if you feel out of balance in any way...with your body or life in general, consider where you might be too burdened. Are you taking on too much?
In my experience, people restore back to their natural state of balance after they lighten up their lives and let go of doing way too much. Lots of you reading this can identify with Betty since you ,too, feel very burdened. Even if you don't "own the company" or if you share mortgage payments with a spouse, you still have the right to OWN your LIFE! If you want to be challenged and supported in putting balance back into your life, I'd love to hear from you. I absolutely adore clients like Betty and would love a few more in 2010.
Phone Coaching
I'm adding 3-5 new phone coaching clients in January/February. My practice is usually full, so if you've been waiting for a space, now's the time. Rates are $395/month for 3 phone sessions or $550/month for 4. Contact me to arrange a sample session. If you're looking for a lower rate, consider the PLATINUM level of Inner Circle, which is $199/month and includes phone coaching with weekly email support. A great deal but only a few spaces left!
