A common complaint in business today is where are the critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and collaborators to spark innovation? They exist in every company, firm, organization, etc. You just have to wake them up.The news media, business school magazines, business journals, more and more are posting stories on how important critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and collaborators are in this country's race to maintain dominance in the global economy. The growing competition from countries around the world can be attributed in part to the level of critical and creative talent they are developing.
So how do we turn human capital in this country into creative capital? We start by providing them with the tools and techniques to break ingrained linear thinking and
limiting habit energy. We teach them how to use more of the expressive, inquisitive, synergistic right brain through arts-for-business based training. We show them how to employ visual and performing arts activities to solve business problems.
Touchy/feely? Guess what? Most Fortune 500 companies are providing more and more arts-for-business based training for their employees at every level of the company. That's what the Zoka Institute is all about – waking up the dormant
creativity inherent in everyone.

Think about it. Up until the age of 2 or 3 a child explores the world upside-down, inside-out, backwards and forwards without any inhibition. Then one day someone comes along and says "no you can't" and "no you can't" and "no you can't" until they enter the educational process. Then the mantra changes from "no you can't" to "no you can't and here's the answer." The higher the educational level the narrower the here's the answer. The "no you can't and here's the answer"
mantra permeates the business world - every world - and throughout one's career. The result is linear thinking and limiting habit energy. Consulting companies specializing in "innovation" practices are little more than another "here's the answer." And numerous surveys report that almost 50% of
executives are unhappy with their "innovation" programs. Little wonder. You can't have innovation without creativity.
"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift."
- Albert Einstein
